DAY 3: Fri 20 Feb 2015

WEEK 1: Delight In Who God Is.
God wants you to know Him.
DESTINY QUESTION: God, Who Are You?
Knowing who your Father is – is key to trusting His divine plan for the earth, your nation, His Bride and yourself.  Pause to listen and DELIGHT in what God says to you about who He is.
Journal what you hear and how this helps define your DESTINY journey.

DELIGHT in who Jesus is: John 1:19-34 The Passion Translation. “I can tell you for sure this man is the Son of God.” (John 1:34)

DELIGHT in Jesus – the unique and beloved Son of God and Son of Man!

DECLARE, “And now I have seen this revelation fulfilled with my own eyes, I can tell you for sure that this man is the Son of God!” (John 1:34) “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being…” (Hebrews 1:3) “For this is how much God loved the world – He gave His uniquely conceived Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in Him will never perish but experience everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

DELIGHT in Jesus’ enduring relevance – based on His historically proven ability to speak, to heal and empower the individual condition. Jesus, Son of God and Son of Man, is the One who knows the truth about our lives and our universe… the best-informed and most intelligent person of all, the smartest person who ever lived – the ultimate scientist, craftsman and artist who made all of created reality; and kept it working, literally “holding it together” (Colossians 1:15-20, 2:2-3). (Willard 1998 p107)

DELIGHT in Jesus’ cognitive and practical mastery of every phase of reality: physical, moral and spiritual. Jesus astonished the teachers in the temple by age 12! (Luke 2:46-47) He was called Rabbi 13 times (Matthew 26:25,49; Mark 9:5; 11:21; 14:45; John 1:38,49; 3:2,26; 4:31; 6:25; 9:2; 11:8). He was called a teacher 41 times and a carpenter just once (Mark 6:3)! Jesus is Master because he is Maestro – Lord. We know who God is when we see He is the master of the created universe who came, as Jesus, and lived among us. He was executed as a criminal among criminals but rose again to life and was present as a person among His people. He continues to be incarnate among us (Romans 8:31-39). (Willard 1998 p109, 367) Jesus opens the kingdom of heaven to everyone and provides everything we need to live (Matthew 4:17). Jesus offers wholeness for the lives of ordinary human beings. In sharing our weakness He gives us strength. His companionship imparts the present experience of eternity to our lives. (Willard 1998 p20) Praise Him! Tell Him what this means to you!

DESTINY BLESSING: Pause to DELIGHT in your Father’s grace – His shalom restoration – through this daily blessing from David Tensen of Elijah House

PRAYER:

  • DELIGHT in Jesus and invite Him into your DESTINY journey.
Jesus, I believe You are Christ, the Son of God, the living expression of God. I ask You to be the Lord of my life. I am not satisfied with shallow knowledge of heaven’s reality. Prepare my heart for cumulative revelation of You and Your Lordship. Open my eyes to see You (John 1:23,29)! Lord, show me Your glory…. (Exodus 33:18) DELIGHT stirs me, Jesus, as I fix upon You and see You – wise, powerful, gentle, breathtaking, genuine, humble, calming, good, loving, compassionate , completely approachable , trustworthy, Immanuel – God with us ! We are “enlightened by the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:6)
  • Invite Jesus into your friends’ DESTINY.
Father, our Father, I pray for my friends, that their eyes will be opened. Give them a gift of faith to believe Jesus is Your Son and receive the redemption offered by Jesus.
  • Invite Jesus to transform the DESTINY of your region.
Yahweh, Lord in heaven and earth, pour out Your Holy Spirit on all people to open our perception of the spiritual world and captivate us with a revelation of who You are. “We were made in Your image for the single purpose of worshipping and adoring You!” Restore to us what it means to be a worshipper. Rivet us in intensive worship that leaps from our hearts, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory!” (Isaiah 6:3) (Tozer 2008 p35, 30)
